Gartner’s New Market Guide for SaaS Management Platforms
According to Gartner: “Organizations often encounter challenges in managing SaaS digital workplace applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Google G Suite.” Gartner further adds, “SaaS management platforms (SMPs) allow IT operations administrators to manage the day-to-day operations for Microsoft Office 365, Google G Suite and other frequently used SaaS applications. SMPs allow IT administrators to manage application policies, take corrective action, track application usage and automate IT administrative tasks.”
Gartner has created a new market classification for SaaS Management Platforms (SMPs) that includes CoreView’s unified management solution for Microsoft Office 365 as a representative vendor. SMPs allow IT administrators to provide additional capabilities to fill the gaps left by native management consoles.
In the market guide, Gartner identifies six main functional categories for SMP solutions including:
– IT Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
– Policy Management
– License Management
– Workflow automation
