NEW INSIGHTS FROM OFFICE 365 GROUPS

The new Office 365 Groups Activity Report now includes Exchange, SharePoint and Yammer activity information to provide a full picture of active and inactive Groups and how those users are collaborating.

Communication, collaboration, and sharing information across your organization’s departments are fundamental to increase productivity in today’s marketplace. To help teams work more closely together, Microsoft has created an Office 365 Groups model that can quickly create a shared calendar, a document library to share files, and other items like a Teams site for chat sessions. It’s a streamlined way to help groups of individuals come together and collaborate.

Office 365 Groups connects your business with six tools: Outlook, SharePoint, Skype for Business, Yammer, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.

Once deployed, however, every organization has the same business question: How can we be sure that our users are leveraging Office 365 Groups? The answer is CoreView.

Providing a complete picture across all active or inactive Office 365 Groups

For IT administrators, understanding how employees are using Office 365 Groups is an important step in understanding the benefits from the investment. That why we’ve included Exchange, SharePoint and Yammer activity usage in the Office 365 Groups report. IT admins now have greater visibility into usage, collaboration behaviors and insights on work habits.

You can find actionable information about Groups usage by looking at the Groups, Activity, Files, and Storage charts provided in the graphical report.

Office 365 Groups Dashboard

Using  V-tenants organizations can segment the information in this report. If you assign a specific administrator to ONLY view a subset of users, then that is the only grouping of user activity which will be shown in the Office 365 groups report for them.

The Activity view shows the number of group activities across group workloads. You can view the Exchange emails received by the group mailboxes across all groups, on any day during the reporting period. You can also see messages posted, read, and liked across the Yammer groups associated with an Office 365 Group.

The Files view shows you the number of total and active files across all group sites associated with an Office 365 Group. The Storage view shows you the total storage used across all group mailboxes and group sites. You can create, manage and delete Office 365 Groups directly inside CoreView.
