#MSIgnite 2017 Highlights: new Office 365 integrated capabilities
The sun has set on another fantastic Microsoft Ignite event. Wow, this was the most exciting one that we’ve attended so far. The conference wrapped with loads of Microsoft announcements about Azure, Office 365, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and more.
The event attracted over 25,000 attendees, from industry experts, to IT professionals and business partners from around the world. Microsoft presented their technological vision around innovations that will “trigger” new business opportunities and productivity in all types of job roles. This year revolved around well-defined topics: the importance of data, security (especially when it comes to clouds), and of course digital transformation.
A BRIEF RECAP:
Microsoft 365 brings together Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility (plus Security) to provide a complete, intelligent, information technology landscape for organizations who need enterprise mobility, collaboration, and enhanced communication, all wrapped around a security infrastructure. By early 2018 Microsoft has already confirmed that it will launch Office 365 Usage Analytics, which can provide valuable data on the use of its platform. Microsoft is also bringing new management and security functionality to Office 365 and Microsoft 365 that include:
- New Intune capabilities with more support for Office ProPlus deployments.
- Office 365 Usage Analytics coming in 2018.
- Information Protection Capabilities to help with identifying, classifying, protecting and monitoring data.
- Improved message encryption, even if the recipients are on Outlook.com, gmail.com or other more consumer email services.
- New Advanced Threat Protection Capabilities (ATP) that take advantage of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Graph.
The new F1 solution suite is an innovative system designed to improve first-line workers’ productivity by providing capabilities and tools to transform their ideas into action thanks to Skype Meeting Broadcast and Yammer to share best practices. Microsoft Staff Hub, integrated into the solution, allows you to organize your workday smoothly while Microsoft PowerApps and Flow allow you to automate your daily activities.
Microsoft has also planned to redesign its Microsoft Teams work solution, which today connects colleagues from all over the world. The Teams workspace enables them to share documents, record conversations, collaborate on projects, and index all data items to facilitate search.
COREVIEW AT MICROSOFT IGNITE!
Wow, what a week! More than 5.000 Microsoft Ignite attendees stopped by our booth to see our CoreView solution!
Loads of Microsoft partners were in attendance to showcase their solutions. For the CoreView product, the most advanced management solution for Office 365, there were quite a number of enhancements to share with the folks at Ignite.
One of the most popular features that we launched was a new integration model for custom PowerShell scripts. Now IT admins can write their own custom PowerShell script covering any management action on their tenant, and then distribute those scripts securely and easily within the CoreView management toolset. This enables other admins to run them within their segmented, virtual-tenant without having global admin rights.
Another new feature that was releases is for automated alert notifications. CoreView now enables administrators to configure automated security compliance alerts that will ONLY be triggered when actual security issues are identified. These alert e-mails will include comprehensive spreadsheets that provide details on the who, when, where, and what, that is related to the security issue.
And to help day-to-day administration tasks run smoothly, we now provide the ability to manage Exchange Calendar permissions, Skype for Business Settings, and PSTN Numbers.
Another benefit of attending the MS-Ignite event is the face-to-face interaction with the different Microsoft teams. We had some great discussions about our future roadmap, gave some amazing demos, and won lots of new Microsoft fans along the way!
Thanks for stopping by and getting to know CoreView.
See you next year at Ignite 2018!
