Exclusive Gartner/CoreView Webinar Invite

Office 365 customers know all about growth pains. Managing, securing and optimizing Office 365 is tedious, time consuming – and too often ignored. The answer, according to Gartner, is a SaaS Management Platform (SMP), a new market category recently defined by the research giant that solves all these IT issues for you.

With an Office 365 SMP, you no longer wrestle with the dozen or so separate management systems that comprise the Office 365 Admin Center, but instead have a ‘single pane of glass’ to manage, monitor, secure and optimize all your Office 365 applications – and best of all — pay for only the licenses you actually use!

Spend a little time with Gartner and CoreView this Thursday at 11AM EST for our webinar “Introduction to SaaS Management Platforms.” Register for the (Gartner SMP webinar), and if you cannot make it, we will send you a link so you can watch it at your leisure.

You can also learn how a SaaS Management Platform can dramatically reduce Office 365 licensing costs, train end users and increase application adoption, manage policies, automate common admin tasks, secure your environment, and stay in compliance with GDPR and other regulations by downloading Gartner’s Market Guide to SaaS Management Platforms (SMP) white paper.

The graphic below shows the key components of an SMP identified by Gartner.

SMP Ushers in a New Generation of Office 365 Efficiency

Office 365 is the most popular SaaS/cloud app for business, even more common than the former big daddy – Salesforce.com. For SMBs and individual users, managing Office 365 and controlling licenses is no big deal. There are not that many licenses to check on, end users exploit few of the suite’s applications and do not always push these too hard, and IT management is minimal. Here the Office 365 Admin Center fits the bill.

However, when installations expand, enterprises and even growing SMBs find the native Office 365 Admin Center console lacking in depth, and overwhelming IT with its complexity of operation. That is largely because the Admin Center is really a set of separately developed management solutions with different approaches depending on the application. This makes deep management difficult even for the seasoned IT vet.

As Gartner explains in its Market Guide for SaaS Management Platforms “… many of the SaaS application vendors have focused more on application functionality and less on the needs of IT operations. This can lead to limitations in the native SaaS administrative consoles, including insufficient reporting, coarse IT permissions and burdensome administrative tasks that require significant manual effort.”

In contrast, SaaS Management Platforms (SMPs) allow IT administrators to track application use, manage policies, and benefit from the automation of core IT admin tasks (replacing the need for scripting) – all from a single platform and console. At the same time, an SMP helps secure your cloud appliances, and achieve compliance with key regulations such as GDPR.
